Station history
Drone Manipulation and the history of Neurofunk Radio
Neurofunk Radio began as the Drone Manipulation live stream in 1998 and adopted its current neurofunk-focused identity in 2022.
Neurofunk Radio traces its origins to Drone Manipulation, an independent live stream created in 1998 by Michael Violence. The project evolved into NeurofunkRadio.com in 2022, with a dedicated focus on neurofunk and the darker edge of drum & bass.
Who created the station?
Michael Violence is the owner and CEO of Neurofunk Radio. He has been a DJ and participant in the drum & bass scene since 1998, has produced major events featuring established DJs, and now focuses chiefly on the stream and podcast.
What changed in 2022?
The station took on the Neurofunk Radio name and a more focused neurofunk identity, while continuing the independent broadcasting lineage established by Drone Manipulation.
What does the project do now?
Neurofunk Radio runs a 24/7 stream, publishes scene news and reviews, hosts a guest-mix archive, and maintains a worldwide events guide. Learn more on the About page or listen to the live broadcast.
