Neonlight return to Eatbrain after 14 years with Leaving Wonderland

Eatbrain's own release note frames Leaving Wonderland plainly: Neonlight are back on the Budapest label after 14 years, with the label describing them as pioneers of the sound and the record as a "brain-melting" solo single release. It went up as a Beatport and Spotify exclusive on 10 August 2026, with the wider digital release on 24 August.

It is two tracks — the title cut and "Elevate". EDM Identity's write-up describes them as two sides of the same coin: the title track leaning darker and more aggressive, "Elevate" carrying a funkier edge, both built from punchy basslines, relentless drums and sawtooth synth work. That is the press framing rather than a listen, but it is consistent with what Eatbrain has been signing under the same banner this year, a run that includes Paimon's Anamnesis EP, Burr Oak's Badlands, Sitri's Minerva and Mob Tactics' 9mm.

The gap matters here. Tobias and Jakob — Nize5ive and Pitch'n'Sulphur — have a discography that runs back through Ammunition Recordings, where "Wave" put them alongside Mefjus, Xilent, Ford and Emperor, then Trust in Music's Blackout EP and The Frozen Tape, the remix of Optiv's "Run It Red ft Ryme Tyme", a rework of State of Mind's "3 Dimensions", and 2011's "Contraire / Ultraviolet" on Bad Taste. Their Eatbrain history is early catalogue: EATBRAIN 004 was a split with Mefjus. Coming back to a label whose numbering has moved several hundred releases past that point, against a current roster that has largely defined the modern template, is a harder test than a debut.

Neonlight have spent the intervening years releasing elsewhere rather than disappearing, so this is less a comeback than a re-entry into a specific lineage — the one Eatbrain built partly on records like theirs. Two tracks is a statement of intent rather than a body of work, and the label has released it as such.
