WHP26: DNB Allstars

DNB Allstars has the whole building on 13 December, with the Warehouse Project's three spaces — Depot, Concourse and Archive — given over to drum and bass for the night. The billed lineup runs Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Bou + B Live 24/7, Hedex, Kanine and Kings of the Rollers, a spread that leans to the big-room and jump-up end but puts enough sound system weight in one venue to justify the trip.

It lands inside WHP26, the season marking twenty years of the Manchester series, which opened on 18 September with KI/KI and runs through to January. The wider programme is mostly house and techno — Keinemusik's Rampa and &ME on the opening weekend, Tiësto on 11 December — which makes the drum and bass dates stand apart on the calendar rather than blending into a run of similar nights. Worried About Henry, the season's other drum and bass takeover, came earlier in the run on 9 October with Andy C's ALiVe show.

The Depot's warehouse scale is the reason these brand takeovers work here: three rooms operating at once, each with its own programming, and a crowd that moves between them across the night.
