Billain puts 'F4K M33' out on CYBE, the label he started this year

In brief

The single landed on CYBE Recordings in the second week of October, nine months after Billain opened the imprint with an artist-first pitch and the 'Assembly I' compilation.

Billain released a single called F4K M33 in the second week of October 2026, issued through CYBE Recordings — the label he launched at the start of the year rather than taking it to any of the imprints he has previously worked with. The track went up on the CYBE Bandcamp page and on Billain's own SoundCloud, with a premiere hosted by STUDIO.

The title is a deliberate callback. F4K Y00 came out in late 2023 on the Billain Aethek Bandcamp, the self-run outlet he was using for solo material before CYBE existed. Whatever else F4K M33 is, it is being filed as part of the same naming run, which suggests this is a thread he intends to keep pulling rather than a one-off.

What CYBE has actually put out

The label's catalogue is still short. Assembly I, a compilation, appeared in January 2026, alongside a track titled HACKER GIRL around the same period. That is roughly the shape of the operation so far: a flagship various-artists release to establish the remit, then singles spaced out across the year. F4K M33 is the most recent entry.

When the label was announced, The Ransom Note reported it as being built on an "artist-first" model — their framing, and the detail of how that works in practice has not been spelled out in anything I have been able to read. Worth watching, though, because the structural question underneath it is the live one for this end of the genre right now: whether a producer with Billain's profile and his technical reputation can run distribution and release scheduling himself and come out ahead of a traditional label deal. Several of his contemporaries have arrived at the same conclusion from different directions over the past few years.

Two things to keep an eye on. First, whether CYBE starts signing outside artists at volume or stays a vehicle for Billain's own output plus occasional guests — Assembly I implies the former is at least on the table. Second, whether the F4K series builds toward a longer body of work. A single in October with a sequel title and a label behind it is the sort of thing that usually has something larger sitting behind it, but nothing to that effect has been stated publicly.
