EATBRAIN 243, out 23 October 2026, pairs the label's most-used name of the past year with one of the longest-standing engineers in technical drum & bass.

Brainstorm is credited to Burr Oak and Audio, carries the catalogue number EATBRAIN 243, and was dated 23 October 2026. Volumo's listing for the release gives the title track as 174 BPM in F minor, running 3:48.

The pairing is not a first contact. Eatbrain's EATBRAIN: 2025 compilation, issued 9 February 2026, included an Audio remix of Screamarts' No One Is Innocent and a Burr Oak and Audio track titled Evil Laugh — so Brainstorm extends a working relationship that the label has already put on record rather than announcing a one-off.

What makes 243 notable is the position Burr Oak now occupies in the Eatbrain catalogue. Two numbers earlier, EATBRAIN 241 was Black Tears, Burr Oak and Pythius with REEBZ. That is two appearances inside a fortnight of catalogue numbering, each with a different and well-established collaborator. For a label that has historically rationed its slots, that rate of placement is the clearest indication of who Eatbrain is currently building around.

Audio's side of the credit needs less introduction. The name turns up in the same breath as Optiv & BTK, Trace, Ed Rush & Optical and Cause 4 Concern in the standard listings of the harder technical lineage, and his output has been a reference point for the processing-forward end of the genre for long enough that a 2026 Eatbrain collaboration reads as continuity rather than a reinvention.

The surrounding run

243 sits in a compressed sequence: Gancher & Ruin x Gydra's Deepraw at 242, Figure's four-track EP at 244 a week later on 30 October. Eatbrain has been shipping at close to weekly cadence through October, and Brainstorm is the one with the heaviest combined CV attached to it.

I have not heard the record and the label has not circulated written notes on it that I was able to locate, so take the above as catalogue context rather than a verdict on the music. The release is distributed through the usual digital stores; Eatbrain's own site and Bandcamp are the places to start, and Volumo carries the per-track metadata if you want key and tempo before you commit.
